A selection of Light Horse classes are held attracting entries from a variety of breeds including New Forest Ponies, Arabs and Coloured Cobs. There are two Dressage Classes and even more fun classes for Novices. Show Jumping and Working Hunter classes will be held throughout the day and are a great attraction to both the general public and competitors alike.
Heavy Horse displays are always a very popular sight at the Show.
Throughout the day you may also enter your pet dog for the Dog Agility ‘Just for Fun’ competition. Also extremely popular are the Dogs. You can enter your pet in a variety of classes from ‘Most Handsome Pedigree’ to ‘Waggiest Tail’.
Dairy and Beef Cattle are shown to perfection, to vie for a coveted Champion Rosette and Sash. Cleaned and combed Rams, Ewes with Lambs are at their best with many rare breeds on show (subject to government restrictions). Both sections have Young Handler Classes for under 16s.
The Donkey Show, which is affiliated to The Donkey Breed Society, has classes for donkeys from foals of six weeks up to veterans of 15 years and older, and it is recognised as one of the finest Shows in the South of England.

All culminating in a Grand Parade of Champions in the Main Ring Horticultural Marquee to stimulate all your senses
In the Horticultural Marquee local people show off their homemade produce ranging from fruit and veg etables to pot plants, many sections having Children’s Classes. Flower Arranging Competition featuring beautiful displays.
The Domestic Produce Classes always make the mouth water. Delicious cakes, breads and scones, baked to a high standard; chutneys and jams to tickle the taste buds, all washed down with some wonderful tasting homemade wines.
Handicrafts of many kinds are lovingly displayed to show a selection of sewing techniques, card marking and ceramics.
Photographers are not forgotten and amateur Art Classes in various mediums are also included.
Inside the Craft Marquee exhibitors make and show their own products, whilst outside Rural Crafts are displayed.
Close by there are the Scarecrow Competition and the ever-popular Fancy Dress Competition for four legged friends and their human companions. The ‘Main Ring’ attractions include: an exciting ‘puissance’ jumping competition, falconry display, Shire horses and finishing with a Parade of Champions.
A day out would not be complete without refreshments which are available in the Ellingham Church Tea Tent or in the famous Ringwood Brewery Beer Tent, or you may wish to select your own spot for your family picnic.
Trade Stands are an important feature of the show and we are fortunate to have the support of over 150 traders, who offer a wide range of products from cars to clothing and garden furniture to jewellery. We also host a Farmers’ Market.
The Vintage Farm Machinery will bring back memories of bygone days. There are many attractions around the Showground for both children and adults which include petting zoo and Raptor & Reptile Marquee with Meerkats. Music by a local brass band, archery, side shows and a fishing competition beside the River Avon.
