Like most good things, Prama came about thanks to one person recognising a need and responding to it. The late Dr. Chris Moran launched Prama in 1982, initially to offer help to recently discharged hospital patients. Help was provided at this time from local church volunteers. Since then we’ve grown to employing nearly 300 staff with our Head Office in Poole and local offices in Blandford and Ferndown.
For over 30 years Prama has built a reputation for home care on a strong and solid foundation of Christian values. That’s not to say we’re an exclusively religious organisation - our clients and staff come from a range of faiths, or no faith - but it is our core values that have enabled us to develop the reputation that we are proud to have.
We run our charity, keeping in mind, what we feel, are the most important aspects of providing “at home care” for all clients regardless of religious beliefs. Ask anyone, and you’ll discover we offer our service based on compassion, helpfulness, respect, integrity, sensitivity and trust. We’re delighted and proud to report that in a survey of over 300 clients, 99% say they would recommend us.
